I had a very nice time over Spring Break. One of the things I did was give Oscar a bath and haircut. He also got to play in the snow. He didn't actually like the deepest part of the snow. It was too cold on his belly!

Our class leprechaun
This is LTL's house. He is a leprechaun who is visiting our classroom. He is a little crabby. We write letters to him. LTL stands for Lucky The Leprechaun. We are hoping he will write back to us.

FYI
Your student probably told you that I scheduled a substitute last Friday so I could spend time with my daughter and her boyfriend who had traveled with her from Maryland. My daughter was a bridesmaid in a wedding on Saturday and they flew back to Baltimore Sunday morning. I had a great time with my daughter. All the bridesmaids and the bride got ready at our house Saturday morning, so that was fun as well.
Your student may or may not have told you a version of what happened on Monday. I arrived at work early to prepare for the day. Toni called me over the PA and said to call the office. As it turned out, my husband was having some of heart rhythm problems and a coworker drove him to the ER. I grabbed my purse and ran out the door to meet them at the hospital. Anyway, after spending a long time at the ER he was sent home with a heart monitor and must now go see a cardiologist next Monday. Sorry if I seemed a little unorganized the next day on our field trip and also that I did't answer some of your emails right away. Hopefully we will find out what, if anything, is going on with Greg's heart, and what to do about it.
Thanks very much to those grown ups who were able to go to the zoo with us. It was a wonderful trip. I LOVED the sea lions!

Oscar's Visit
We recently got to 100 points again. To celebrate, the students voted for Oscar (my dog) to come for a visit. He showed off doing some of his tricks.

Brilliant Idea!
I just had a brilliant idea! Since our zoo field trip will cost a little more than our Rockwoods trip was going to cost, ($2.50 more) I am just going to keep the money you sent in for our Counting Change Unit. All you have to do is sign the permission form that was sent home today and send it back with your student. Thank you!!
