The Valentine's Day Party
Everyone had a super time at the party on Tuesday. Thanks to all the helpers who donated time and goodies to the students. One of the favorite activities is always opening cards from friends.
Kennerly Library
The students really enjoy going to the Kennerly library each week. Besides getting to check out books, they enjoy listening to stories. This is a photo of Ms. Heater reading to my class. She is a retired Kennerly teacher.

Valentine's Day, etc.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. Here are just a few tidbits you should know for the upcoming week. The Valentine's Day party will be Tues. the 14th at 2:00p.m. The parents who are in charge seem to have everything under control, so if you have not been contacted you may assume they have enough help. Of course anyone is always welcome to "show up" at party time. The students have made Valentine pockets to hold their cards, so please send the cards to school Monday or Tuesday and they will be able to deliver them to their classmate's pockets.
Early Release Day is Wed. the 15th. Please let me know how your child will be getting home that day if plans have changed from "the norm". Students will be dismissed at 1:40p.m.
If your child is participating in the Six Flags reading for a ticket, the forms are due next Wed. the 15th.
There is no school on Monday the 20th due to President's Day.

Super Dad's Breakfast
I tried to find everyone at the breakfast, but it was fairly crowded. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. Thanks to all the Dads and special role models for sharing this breakfast with your Kennerly student.

Snowpeople/occupations
We read a book titled,
All You Need For a Snowman.
Then everyone made a
Snowperson dressed
as having a certain
occupation.
Then they wrote about their
Snowperson.

Rockwoods Reservation
We are observing how Native Americans and Colonial
Americans used to turn Sugar Maple sap into maple syrup
or maple sugar.
Here we are observing how people would make maple
syrup today.
Here we are tasting maple syrup candy! YUM!
Here we are in the sugar bush trying to figure out how
to identify a Sugar Maple tree.
Tasting tree sap!!
Looking inside the bucket that is collecting sap. The lid
is to keep out rain water and MOST of the bugs.
Getting safety directions before sitting around the fire.
MMMM Smell that smoke!
