I had a wonderful vacation! I spent two days at a bed and breakfast called Garth Woodside Mansion. The "Mansion" is in Hannibal, Missouri, and it is gorgeous. I would highly recommend it to any couple for a quick romantic get away!

Money Time

We are studying money. Yesterday a ziplock back was sent home with each student containing directions as to what kind of change to bring back in the bag. We will use the bags of change to practice counting amounts. If you have not sent the ziplock bag back please do so as soon as possible. I promise it will come back home as soon as we finish our money unit. Thank you so much for your help!

Tyler and Nathaniel's Lego Machine

This is a video of Tyler and Nathaniel sharing their Lego Machine with the class. Their machine was a factory made from Legos with gears, pulleys, etc. and run off software from a laptop. Thank you to the Yepez family for transporting everything to school so we could see it.

Help! We are running out of color in our markers. Please buy another set of markers to send to school with your child. Spring break might be an excellent time to go shopping, if you can't get to it right away. Thank you so much for your help!!

Variety Show

I just wanted to share a few things about the variety show. Dress rehearsal usually goes pretty well. However, we have had a few problems in the past with supervising the students in the holding rooms during the two nights of the show. Last year a boy in my room was shoved into the edge of a piano (presumably by another child who was running) he suffered a huge gash in his face (on his cheek). It was bad enough to need stitches by a plastic surgeon, and he did not attend school for a few days afterward. I just want to let parent supervisors know it is OK to make the students walk and sit down in the holding rooms. Please don't be squeamish about disciplining other people's children. We want everyone to be safe!!

Show and Tell

The class made it to 100 points once again. They voted to do Show and Tell. Please allow your student to bring something on Monday for Show and Tell. It must not be fragile, and it must be able to fit in a zipped book bag. Thanks for your help!
