Our zoo class was all about habitats. We also got to meet animals from four different habitats.

We had a wonderful time at the zoo. The new sea lion exhibit was a big hit!

Brilliant Idea!

I just had a brilliant idea! Since our zoo field trip will cost a little more than our Rockwoods trip was going to cost, ($2.50 more) I am just going to keep the money you sent in for our Counting Change Unit. All you have to do is sign the permission form that was sent home today and send it back with your student. Thank you!!

Next field trip

Well the third time did NOT turn out to be a charm! However, we have set up another field trip for the morning of March 12th. This time it is at an outdoor venue, but most of our time will be spent indoors. We will be attending an animal class at the zoo! A permission slip will be coming home shortly. We will combine the money we already have from the cancelled field trip with the remainder of the fee, so it should not be too expensive.

I will be at the Variety Show tomorrow evening for a bit, and for the entire show on Saturday evening. Hope to see you there!

Last Chance Field Trip

We have rescheduled our field trip AGAIN for next Tuesday, February 26th. We will leave school at 8:45a.m. Please make sure your student arrives on time! This is our last chance to make up our trip. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!!

TUESDAY FIELD TRIP

Just wanted to remind everyone about our field trip. We rescheduled the trip to Rockwoods Reservation for Tuesday, Feb. 18th. The trip takes about half an hour and they like to talk to all of us in one big group for a few minutes before they break us into three groups to move through the stations. PLEASE make sure your student is on time. We will be loading the kids on the bus at 8:42a.m. Please make sure you check the weather the evening before and dress your student appropriately. They will be outdoors for a solid hour and a half. Please have them wear boots and bring sneakers in a plastic bag. We will change into sneakers when we return to school and they will bring their boots home in the plastic bag. If you are going on the field trip please meet us there no later than 9:30a.m. THANKS!

Spreading Valentine Happiness

The first graders had a wonderful visit with the residents of Tesson Heights Retirement
Center. We gave them handmade Valentines and placemats. The residents were particularly impressed with our new iPads we brought along!
