I just have a few things to update everyone on. First, I have not been given a new date by Rockwoods Reservation for our field trip yet. I will let you know as soon as I hear from them.
Second, the students reached 100 points and voted to have show and tell tomorrow to celebrate. The guidelines for show and tell are as follows: It can not be fragile. It has to be small enough to fit inside a zipped book bag. Also, it can not be alive.
Third, we are beginning our unit in math on money. I would like the students to bring in some change so we can practice counting the real thing. Please send the change in a ziplock bag with your student's name on the front. We will each need a bag containing 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 10 nickels, and 10 pennies.
Thank you so much for all your help!!

January Thaw
Can you believe we were out on the playground without jackets today? What is up with this crazy weather!
Reminders
Just a quick reminder. If you have not returned your student's permission slip for our field trip this Thursday, please do so as soon as possible. Everyone is required to wear boots. Even if it is not snowy or icy it will probably be muddy. Goodness knows I have no idea what the temperature will be by Thursday.
Also, the Super Dad's Breakfast is Friday. If you have not made a reservation yet I think you may still do so by calling the office. (720-2440)

Field Trip
I just found out our date for the next field trip. This is a science field trip about plants and natural resources. We will be visiting Rockwoods Reservation for their annual Maple Sugar Festival. The field trip is one and one half hours long, and ALL outdoors. Please read the permission slip I am sending home today, and return it with two dollars as soon as possible. Our trip is planned for next Thursday, Jan. 31.
The Crayon Box That Talked
We watched a short video about a crayon box. All the crayons could talk, but none of the colors could get along. Ask your student what they learned. afterward we each made a crayon for our box with each different face on it's own color of crayon.
Snowman Fun!!
We all used marshmallows and white paint to stamp our snow person. Tomorrow we will add faces and accessories. Did you notice the black paper? What do you think your snowman does at night after you're asleep?
